Sri Chinmoy Tri Club's SBR-Mini DUATHLON (run-bike-run) 2022

Resources

Attached are some race resources for our Multisport Events, including Risk Assessments that we are required to share with all competitors.

Results September 11 2022

There were 31 athletes in Sunday's GO TRI Duathlon at Tockington.

Conditions were pretty good - cool and dry without too much breeze - but some disruption to the route (roadworks) and the usual post-rain gravel on some of the turns meant it wasn't totally ideal. Nevertheless there were some fast times including a first place under 40 minutes (Chris Mills - 39.21). 2nd place went to veteran Mark Wilkinson (40.11), with Kit McColl 3rd (42.53). In the women's results, first overall was Marie Monaghan in a time of 44.23, with Gwenno Goode from Barry second in 48.18 and a 3rd place for Sarah Bennet in 50.15.

Results are now online (see link attached) and I'm very happy to say that guest race photographer Nick Tuftnell has captured the event with a great gallery of photos on Flickr -  much appreciated Nick!  Thanks are also due to Lucinda from North Bristol Tri who stepped in as a marshal at the last minute so the race could go ahead.

To those of you racing on our course for the first time I hope you enjoyed the simplicity of GO TRI and the scenic race route. We'll be fixing up our series for next year soon and hope to have three Duathlons as well as a GO TRI Triathlon all at the same venue in 2023.

Duathlon Results 26 June 2022

It was a small turnout again (seems to be the pattern as we all adjust to racing again post-lockdown) but definitely a case of quality not quantity, with everyone finishing under, or pretty much bang on, the hour. With blustery winds and 2 sections of gravel to negotiate as a result of road re-surfacing, that's an impressive set of times. Fastest in the men's line up were Chris Mills with an excellent winning time of 38:58, followed by Mark Wilkinson (40:20) and Pete Lloyd (42:22). We had a new winner in the womens's race, Odette Collett, who was racing on this course for the first time, with Sarah Bennett (50:20) and Victoria Brooke (50:41) in second and third.

There were excellent times all the way down the field, and we had what I believe is our biggest ever age range among the competitors, with youth represented by Chloe Shephard (16) and experience by Robin Drewett (81).

Attached are the results and a link to a photo gallery from the race.

Thanks to everyone who took part and as always to our selfless team of marshals who put the race on - cheers everyone & see you in September for the next one.

Sri Chinmoy Tri Club's GO TRI DUATHLON at Tockington, 3 April 2022

It was our lowest ever turnout for the GO TRI event at Tockington, but that seems to be down to a combination of covid-uncertainty, sub-zero temperatures overnight and an unlucky prevalence of injuries hitting people just at the start of their racing season.

Fortunately for the 21 brave souls who did make it to the start line, everyone got round without incident and the sun came out for pretty much the whole race.

There were good times across the board (especially considering the need to ride cautiously on the shaded sections of the course which were still frosty) and worthy winners in Alex Brown (49:54) and Matt Washburn (43:14). Trophies will be on their way to the winners soon - congratulations to both.

Our next Tockington event is the GO TRI Triathlon on June 2nd and our Eastville Park running events begin on 10th May, so hope to see you (and some warmer weather) soon.

Results are in the attached PDF and photos will appear soon in our Race Gallery.
